The Hunneman & Company papers contain business letters written by a variety of persons. Much of it concerns transactions of Norwich, Conn., merchant Charles P. Huntington ( - ) in 1825. The letters deal with the ordering and construction of fire engines, and there are also two newspaper clippings advertising the fire engines and listing their buyers. There is also a shipping order for a fire engine. A twenty-six page photostat notebook, provided by Minott M. Rowe ( - ), president of Worcester Mutual Fire Insurance Company, lists buyers and dates of purchase of Hunneman's fire engines, for the period 1792 to 1883. There is also a list of other hand engine builders.
